This text has not been reviewed by legal counsel. It describes how the site operates and is not legal advice. If you rely on it for a legal decision, consult a lawyer.

1. Nature of the service

TNAADO Tools is a free, experimental information project. It is not a paid service. TNAADO Inc. is not your service provider, adviser or agent, there is no client relationship, and we do not owe you the duties, service standards or warranties that a paid service provider would owe under a contract for services. See Terms of Use.

2. General information only

Everything on tools.tnaado.ca is general information published for the public. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical or other professional advice. TNAADO Tools is not a law firm or an accounting or financial firm and does not provide professional services. Using the Site does not create a professional or any other relationship between you and TNAADO Inc.

3. Calculators give estimates

Calculators, converters, validators and checklists produce estimates and checks from the rules and figures built into them. They are built against published rules and tested, but they do not account for your particular circumstances. Mortgage, tax, payroll, investment, health and business results in particular must be confirmed with the relevant authority (for example the Canada Revenue Agency or your lender) or with a professional who is accountable for the advice, before you make a decision.

4. Rules and rates change

Rates, brackets, thresholds, fees and program rules change, sometimes mid-year and sometimes retroactively, and they differ between countries, provinces and states. A tool may be out of date. Check the official source before you rely on a figure.

5. Your files and results

Conversions, calculations, text recognition (OCR), compression and validators can be wrong or incomplete, and a file that passes a check here can still be refused by the organisation that receives it. Keep your own copy of every original before you convert, compress, edit or encrypt a file. Tools run in your browser, so we cannot see, back up or recover what you enter or produce, and we cannot recover a lost password or key. See the Privacy Policy.

6. Third-party data and lookups

Some tools use public data or look-up services run by others (for example IP lookup services and government data sets). We do not control them and do not guarantee that they are accurate, complete or available. Lookup results are information, not a determination about a vehicle, product, provider or person.

7. No affiliation

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any government, regulator, company or organisation mentioned on the Site. The Site does not use government seals or logos. Names, marks and logos of third parties belong to their owners and are used only to refer to them.

8. Advertising

The Site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense, labelled "Advertisement". Advertisers do not write or approve our tools, and an ad is not an endorsement or a recommendation. We do not currently use affiliate links; if a page ever has one, it will be labelled next to the link.

9. Accuracy and availability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided "as is" and "as available". Content and figures may be wrong, incomplete or stale, and the Site may be unavailable or change at any time. Government rules, fees and policies change. Verify anything that matters at the official source before you rely on it. See Terms of Use.

10. Limitation of liability and reliance

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TNAADO Inc. is not liable for loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Site, including indirect and consequential loss, lost profit and the losses listed in the Terms of Use. Because the Site is free, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid, which is nil. This does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything the law does not let us limit. If you are a consumer, rights under consumer protection law such as Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 that cannot be waived remain yours. You use the Site at your own risk and should not rely on it alone for a decision with legal, financial, tax, health, safety, immigration, customs or travel consequences. See Terms of Use and section 6.

11. Commercial use

The Site is for personal, non-commercial, informational use. Commercial use of the Site or its content and systems, and reproducing them, is not allowed without our written permission (see Terms of Use). To the fullest extent permitted by law, TNAADO is not liable for commercial use of the Site or for losses a business or other commercial user suffers by relying on it; this does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited (see the Terms of Use). See Terms of Use.

12. Sources and basis

  • Law Society Act (Ontario), s. 1(5)-(6) and s. 26.1: giving advice about a person's legal rights is providing legal services; this site publishes general information and estimates only.
