Cookies and Advertising
1. Summary
- tools.tnaado.ca shows advertising from Google AdSense and, subject to your choice, measures visits with Google Analytics 4 and a first-party page-view counter.
- The site shows its own privacy banner with "Accept all" and "Reject non-essential". It stores your choice in your browser and asks again after a year. "Cookie preferences" in the footer reopens it.
- Ads are labelled "Advertisement". Third parties, including Google and its advertising partners, may place and read cookies or use web beacons or IP addresses because of ad serving on this site.
- You can opt out using the tools under "Your choices" below. This legal site, legal.tnaado.ca, has no ads, no analytics and sets no cookies.
2. Cookies and browser storage
2.1 What the site stores
- Your privacy-banner choice, in your browser's local storage, for up to one year.
- In your browser's session storage, a two-letter country code from Cloudflare for the tab's session, used to decide whether Google Analytics may start before you choose.
- Whatever a tool keeps on your device to do its own job.
- If you choose "Accept all", a first-party browser identifier for our page-view counter. It is removed if you later reject.
2.2 What we observed
The table lists what a test browser held on 26 October 2026 when it loaded the home page from Canada and before it made any choice, then what was added after it chose "Accept all". Google may set different or additional identifiers depending on your region, device and settings, and its practices can change. Lifetimes are as observed.
| Name | Set by | Where | Purpose | Observed lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| __gads, __gpi | Google AdSense | tools.tnaado.ca (first party) | Ad delivery, measurement, limiting repeat ads and detecting invalid activity | About 13 months; present before any choice in this test |
| __eoi | Google AdSense | tools.tnaado.ca (first party) | Ad delivery and measurement | About 6 months; present before any choice in this test |
| test_cookie | Google (DoubleClick) | doubleclick.net (third party) | Checks whether the browser accepts cookies | Expires within a day |
| google_adsense_settings | Google AdSense | Browser local storage | Stores AdSense settings | Until cleared |
| tn-consent-v1 | TNAADO (first party) | Browser local storage | Remembers your banner choice | Up to 1 year, then asked again |
| _ga | Google Analytics | tools.tnaado.ca (first party) | Distinguishes visitors for measurement | About 400 days; added after "Accept all" |
| _ga_Y561C98Y8Q | Google Analytics | tools.tnaado.ca (first party) | Keeps session state for measurement | About 400 days; added after "Accept all" |
The first-party browser identifier of the page-view counter is stored in local storage only after "Accept all", and our automated test browser is recognised as a bot and does not create it, so it is described from the site's code. The country code from Cloudflare is held in session storage for the tab only. IDE and other third-party advertising cookies may be set by Google's advertising partners and were not seen in this test.
2.3 Fonts
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. This sends a request from your browser to Google.
3. Analytics
3.1 Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-Y561C98Y8Q) to see which pages and tools are used. The privacy banner works with Google Consent Mode. Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's tag can load before you choose, with analytics and advertising storage all denied: in that mode it sets no analytics cookies and sends cookieless pings that Google uses for aggregate modelling. Inside those regions, or if the country cannot be determined, it waits until you choose "Accept all". "Accept all" allows analytics cookies. Advertising storage is never granted by our banner; advertising consent is left to Google's own consent message. On pages whose tool runs in a private frame, Google Analytics does not start until you accept.
3.2 First-party counter
After you choose "Accept all", a small script sends one record per page view to site.tnaado.ca: page, referrer, campaign tags, a first-party browser identifier, visible time, and location and device fields derived by the receiving server. If you reject, nothing is sent.
3.3 No analytics in tool frames
Sandboxed tool frames and generated embed widgets contain no analytics.
4. Advertising
4.1 How ads work here
Eligible pages show responsive display ads served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-3228722733199849). Each in-page ad is labelled "Advertisement". On some pages Google may also show an anchor ad that sticks to the bottom of the screen; it can be dismissed. We do not use the in-article ad format. Ads are not shown on our About, Contact, Privacy and Terms pages, in the isolated frames where tools handle files and text, or on this legal site. Advertising is not controlled by the banner: Google's own consent message, where Google enables it, governs ad cookies.
4.2 Third-party disclosure
Third parties, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.
Read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services for what Google does with this data.
4.3 Advertising and our content
Advertisers do not write or approve our tools, and we do not currently use affiliate links. If a link ever pays us, we will say so next to it.
5. Your choices
- Choose "Reject non-essential" in the privacy banner, or reopen "Cookie preferences" in the footer.
- Turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings.
- Use the opt-out pages of the Digital Advertising Alliance (US) or Your Ad Choices (Canada).
- Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working, though you may still see non-personalised ads.
- Browser preference signals: we do not currently read Global Privacy Control or similar signals ourselves.
6. US state privacy laws
We do not sell personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws define "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising" broadly enough to include advertising cookies like these. To the extent they apply to us, you can opt out using the choices above, and you can ask us about your information at contact@tnaado.ca. See the Privacy Policy for your rights.
7. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
The site is aimed at visitors in Canada and the United States. We do not claim to meet European requirements beyond the behaviour described above.
8. Children
The site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Sources and basis

- Behaviour described from the site's own consent, beacon and build code (js/consent.js, js/consent-banner.js, js/site-beacon.js, build.mjs) and its live HTML and headers, read on 26 October 2026.
