1. Summary

  • tnaado.ca asks for your choice on analytics in a banner on your first visit. "Accept all" starts Google Analytics 4 and a first-party page-view counter. "Reject non-essential" starts neither. Nothing is stored about your choice except a note in your browser.
  • Some things load whatever you choose: Google Fonts, Cloudflare's security checks and, in our test, Cloudflare's web analytics script.
  • The page shows no ads and sets no advertising cookies.
  • You can change your choice at any time through "Cookie preferences" in the page footer. This legal site, legal.tnaado.ca, has no ads, no analytics and sets no cookies.

2. What loads and what is stored

2.1 Before you choose

The table lists what we observed when we loaded tnaado.ca in a test browser on 26 October 2026 and had not chosen anything. Third parties can change what they set, and a real visitor's browser can differ from a test browser.

Name or addressSet or loaded byPurposeObserved lifetime
cf_clearance (cookie, domain .tnaado.ca)CloudflareRecords that a browser passed Cloudflare's bot-protection check, so it is not asked againAbout 1 year as observed; not every visitor is challenged, so you may never receive it
static.cloudflareinsights.com/beacon.min.js and a POST to /cdn-cgi/rumCloudflare Web AnalyticsCloudflare's measurement of page loads and performance; this loaded before any choice was made. We did not see it set a cookieNot applicable
fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com (requests, no cookie observed)Google FontsDelivers the page's typefaces; Google receives your IP address and browser detailsNot applicable
tn-consent-v1 (browser local storage)TNAADO (first party)Remembers your banner choiceUp to 1 year, then asked again

2.2 After you choose "Accept all"

Name or addressSet or loaded byPurposeObserved lifetime
_ga (cookie, domain .tnaado.ca)Google Analytics 4Distinguishes visitors for measurementAbout 400 days as observed
_ga_Y561C98Y8Q (cookie, domain .tnaado.ca)Google Analytics 4Keeps session state for measurementAbout 400 days as observed
www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js, analytics.google.com, stats.g.doubleclick.net, www.google.ca/ads/ga-audiences (requests)GoogleDelivers and sends Google Analytics data; the last two are Google advertising-related addresses. We have not verified which Google Analytics advertising features are on for our propertyNot applicable
tnaado_visitor_id (browser local storage)TNAADO (first party)A random identifier so a returning browser is one visitor in our own counter; other TNAADO sites use the same key name, but each site's browser storage is separateUntil you clear site data
site.tnaado.ca/api/collect (one request per visit)TNAADO (first party)Sends the page-view record described in the Privacy PolicyNot applicable

The visitor identifier appears only in real browsers; our automated test browser is recognised as a bot and does not send it. We did not observe the counter's request in the test for the same reason, and describe it from its code.

2.3 If you choose "Reject non-essential" or do not choose

Google Analytics and the first-party counter do not load and the items in the second table are not created. The first table still applies, except that your choice itself is stored in local storage.

3. Analytics

Google Analytics 4 uses measurement ID G-Y561C98Y8Q. Google receives page views, page addresses, referrers, browser and device details and an approximate location, and states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Event data is kept for the period set in our property (2 or 14 months, Google's options); we have not verified our setting. To stop Google Analytics measuring you on any site, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google's page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services explains what Google does with the data.

4. Advertising

The page shows no advertising, loads no advertising script and uses no advertising cookies. It does carry a Google AdSense account-verification tag in its source and an ads.txt file; these tie our publisher account to the domain and do not display ads or set cookies. The Google addresses listed above for Google Analytics are advertising-related, which is why we disclose them.

5. Your choices

  • Use "Cookie preferences" in the page footer, or the banner on your first visit, to accept or reject analytics. Until you choose, analytics stays off.
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings, and use the industry opt-out pages: Digital Advertising Alliance (US) and Your Ad Choices (Canada).
  • Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. The page still works.
  • Browser preference signals: we do not read Global Privacy Control or "do not track" signals ourselves. Google Analytics and the counter do not start without your choice in the banner in any case, so a signal would change nothing on this page.

6. Things we know do not match

Our banner says "Nothing is measured until you choose". In our test Cloudflare's web analytics script loaded before a choice was made, and the page's footer links to Privacy and Terms point to the Dispatch's documents rather than these. We are recording both for correction. Until they are fixed, treat this page as the accurate description.

7. US state privacy laws

We do not sell personal information for money and show no advertising on this page. Some US state privacy laws define "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising" broadly enough to include advertising-related measurement. To the extent they apply to us, you can opt out by rejecting analytics in the banner, and you can ask us about your information at contact@tnaado.ca. See the Privacy Policy for your rights.

8. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

The page is aimed at visitors in Canada and the United States. For everyone, including visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics and the first-party counter start only after "Accept all". Google Fonts and Cloudflare's items load whatever you choose, and we do not claim to meet European requirements beyond that.

9. Children

The page is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

10. Sources and basis

  • Test load of tnaado.ca on 26 October 2026 in a headless Google Chrome with a fresh profile, before and after calling the page's own "accept all" function; cookies, local storage and network requests were listed from Chrome's DevTools protocol. A snapshot, not a guarantee.
  • The page's own scripts (js/consent.js, js/consent-banner.js, js/site-beacon.js), read in the tnaado-ca repository and from the live site.
  • Google Publisher Policies, Privacy disclosures (support.google.com/adsense/answer/10502938) and Google Analytics Terms of Service, section 7: disclose cookies and identifiers and the use of Google Analytics, and link to Google's partner-sites page.
