1. Summary

  • answers.tnaado.ca uses Google Analytics 4 for measurement and Google AdSense for advertising. Both use cookies and similar technologies.
  • On your first visit the site shows a notice with three buttons (Manage preferences, Reject non-essential or Accept all). Analytics cookies are off until you accept. The buttons do not control Google's advertising, which loads for every visitor. "Cookie preferences" in the page footer reopens the choice.
  • Ads are labelled "Advertisement". Third parties, including Google and its advertising partners, may place and read cookies or use web beacons or IP addresses because of ad serving on this site.
  • You can opt out using the tools under "Your choices" below. This legal site, legal.tnaado.ca, has no ads, no analytics and sets no cookies.

2. Cookies and browser storage

2.1 What we observed

The table lists what loaded when we visited the site's pages in a test browser on 26 October 2026. Google may set different or additional identifiers depending on your region, device and settings, and its practices can change. Lifetimes are as observed.

2.2 Fonts

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts. This sends a request from your browser to Google and sets no cookie that we have observed.

2.3 Our own cookies

The Site sets no cookies of its own. It uses your browser's storage for the two items in the table above (your notice choice and the session country code). The country code comes from a request to Cloudflare, which fronts this site (/cdn-cgi/trace). Tools and calculators keep what you enter in the page only.

3. Analytics

We count visits in two ways. First, Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless: it sets no cookies and uses no browser storage to identify you, and it records page views, page addresses, referrers, country, browser and device type. It runs for every visitor and does not need your permission to count a visit. Second, Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-Y561C98Y8Q), which runs only if you choose Accept. Until you do, Google's tag does not load and sends nothing to Google. The notice works with Google Consent Mode: all four consent signals start as denied, and Accept allows analytics cookies and personalised ads. If you accept and later reject, we delete the analytics cookies and reload the page. Google receives page views, page addresses, referrers, browser and device details and an approximate location. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Event data is kept for the period set in our property (2 or 14 months, Google's options). To stop Google Analytics measuring you on any site, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

4. Advertising

4.1 How ads work here

Until you choose Accept, ads are requested as non-personalised. If you accept, Google may personalise ads.

Eligible pages show responsive display ads served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-3228722733199849). Each in-page ad is labelled "Advertisement". On some longer pages Google may also show an anchor ad that sticks to the bottom of the screen; it can be dismissed. We do not use the in-article ad format. Ads are not shown on our About, Contact, Privacy and Terms pages or on this legal site.

4.2 Third-party disclosure

Third parties, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet. Third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses, to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.

Read How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services for what Google does with this data.

4.3 Advertising and our content

Advertisers do not write or approve our guides, and we do not currently use affiliate links. If a link ever pays us, we will say so next to it.

5. Your choices

  • Use the notice, or "Cookie preferences" in the page footer, to accept or reject analytics. This does not change advertising.
  • Turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings.
  • Use the opt-out pages of the Digital Advertising Alliance (US) or Your Ad Choices (Canada).
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though you may still see non-personalised ads.
  • Browser preference signals: we do not currently read Global Privacy Control or similar signals ourselves. If your browser offers a setting to send one, it does not change what Google's code does unless Google honours it.

6. US state privacy laws

We do not sell personal information for money. Some US state privacy laws define "sale", "sharing" or "targeted advertising" broadly enough to include advertising cookies like these. To the extent they apply to us, you can opt out using the choices above, and you can ask us about your information at contact@tnaado.ca. See the Privacy Policy for your rights.

7. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland

The Site is directed to visitors in the United States and Canada. Google's policies require consent for cookies and personalised ads for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Google Analytics waits for Accept everywhere, as described above. Google's advertising code is not gated by our notice, and this site does not load a Google consent management message for advertising, so we do not collect the advertising consent that Google's policy expects for those regions. We treat that as a known gap, and we do not claim to meet European requirements.

8. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
