Accessibility Statement
1. Our aim
We want answers.tnaado.ca to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboards, magnification or other assistive technology. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We are working toward that target. The site has not had an independent accessibility audit, and we do not claim that it fully conforms.
2. What the site does today
Features present in the site's pages as of 26 October 2026:
- Pages declare their language and use a single main content landmark.
- A "skip to content" link is the first focusable item.
- Each page has one top-level heading, and headings do not skip levels.
- Navigation regions and breadcrumbs are labelled.
- Tools and calculators use native form controls, and keyboard focus is visibly styled.
- Animation respects the browser's "reduce motion" setting.
- Every image carries an alt attribute. We have not reviewed the quality of every description.
3. Known limitations
- Advertisements are supplied by Google AdSense. We do not control their markup and they may not meet WCAG. A sticky anchor ad can be dismissed.
- Some guides contain wide tables that scroll sideways on small screens.
- Documents and pages from other organisations that we link to are outside our control.
- We have not tested every page with every combination of browser and assistive technology.
4. Feedback and requests
If you find a barrier, or need information from the site in another format, email contact@tnaado.ca. Please include the page address, what went wrong and the assistive technology you use, if any. We aim to reply within 5 business days and to fix problems we can confirm as soon as practicable.
5. Technical information
The site is built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and relies on a current web browser. Tools and calculators need JavaScript.
6. Status of this statement
This statement is voluntary and describes our intentions and current practice. It is not a promise of any particular level of conformance and is not legal advice. It was last updated on 26 October 2026.
7. Sources and basis
- W3C, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (w3.org/TR/WCAG21/), the stated target.
- U.S. Department of Justice, Guidance on Web Accessibility and the ADA (ada.gov/resources/web-guidance/): cites WCAG as a helpful technical standard; no rule requires a private website to publish a statement.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (O. Reg. 191/11), s. 14 (websites).
- Feature list checked by script against every built page of the site on 26 October 2026 (language, main landmark, heading order, alt attributes) and against its stylesheet (skip link, focus styles, reduced motion). Not reviewed by counsel: see the notice at the top of this page.
