Disclaimer
1. Nature of the service
TNAADO Travel is a free, experimental information project. It is not a paid service. TNAADO Inc. is not your service provider, adviser or agent, there is no client relationship, and we do not owe you the duties, service standards or warranties that a paid service provider would owe under a contract for services. See Terms of Use.
2. General information only
Everything on travel.tnaado.ca is general information published for the public. It is not legal, customs, immigration, tax, financial or other professional advice. TNAADO Travel is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Using the Site does not create a lawyer-client or any other professional relationship between you and TNAADO Inc.
3. Not a government site
We are an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Transportation Security Administration, or any other government or agency. The Site does not use government seals or logos. Agency names are used only to identify the source of public information.
4. The officer decides at the border
Border rules depend on who you are, where you are going, what you carry and how long you were away. The border officer makes the decision when you arrive, and it can differ from anything on the Site. Following a page on the Site does not guarantee admission, clearance, an exemption, a duty-free allowance or any other result.
5. Rules and figures change
Laws, allowances, prohibited-item lists, hours, fees and processes change, and the Site may be out of date. Pages that show rules, hours or figures cite the official source and show the date it was read. Check the official source before you travel: for example CBP: Travel and CBSA: Travel, and posted signs and instructions at the border.
6. Wait times are estimates
Wait times and similar figures are reported by third parties, including border agencies, and are shown as received. They may be estimates, delayed, missing or wrong, and conditions can change within minutes. Readings that are too old are hidden rather than shown. Do not rely on a wait time to plan a connection, appointment or flight.
7. Calculators and checklists
Calculators and checklists copy figures and rules from official pages as read on the date shown and produce estimates, not certain amounts. Check any result against the official source and with the agency before you act on it. What you enter stays in your browser; see the Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party information and links
We cite and link to official pages and other third-party sources. We do not control them and do not guarantee that they are accurate, complete or still available. Other travel and border sites may use similar names or addresses; check that you are on the official government site when you fill out forms or pay fees.
9. Advertising
The Site shows advertisements served by Google AdSense, labelled "Advertisement". Advertisers do not write or approve our content, and an ad is not an endorsement or a recommendation. We do not currently use affiliate links; if a page ever has one, it will be labelled next to the link.
10. Accuracy and availability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site is provided "as is" and "as available". Content and figures may be wrong, incomplete or stale, and the Site may be unavailable or change at any time. Government rules, fees and policies change. Verify anything that matters at the official source before you rely on it. See Terms of Use.
11. Limitation of liability and reliance
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TNAADO Inc. is not liable for loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Site, including indirect and consequential loss, lost profit and the losses listed in the Terms of Use. Because the Site is free, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid, which is nil. This does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything the law does not let us limit. If you are a consumer, rights under consumer protection law such as Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 that cannot be waived remain yours. You use the Site at your own risk and should not rely on it alone for a decision with legal, financial, tax, health, safety, immigration, customs or travel consequences. See Terms of Use and section 6.
12. Commercial use
The Site is for personal, non-commercial, informational use. Commercial use of the Site or its content and systems, and reproducing them, is not allowed without our written permission (see Terms of Use). To the fullest extent permitted by law, TNAADO is not liable for commercial use of the Site or for losses a business or other commercial user suffers by relying on it; this does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited (see the Terms of Use). See Terms of Use.
13. Sources and basis
- Federal Trade Commission, Impersonation Rule (16 CFR 461.2): no false claim of government affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship.
- Law Society Act (Ontario), s. 1(5)-(6) and s. 26.1: giving a person advice about their legal rights is providing legal services; this site publishes general information only.
- CBP states on its own pages that they are the official source of US customs and border information (cbp.gov/travel); the CBSA publishes its own official travel pages.
- Trademark and agency names are used only to refer to the real entity (nominative use, 15 U.S.C. 1125(c)(3)(A)).
- Limits on liability, as-is wording and the commercial-use ban are explained, with their legal basis and limits, in the Terms of Use.
- A disclaimer does not by itself remove responsibility for inaccurate content: pages cite sources and read dates for that reason. Not reviewed by counsel: see the notice at the top of this page.
